We are fundraising to feed our community.
At 18 Reasons, we believe that learning to cook and gaining the confidence to make informed food choices can transform a person’s life. We are a nonprofit community cooking school with a vision to create equity and belonging through the transformative and healing power of home cooking.
We are the only San Francisco organization offering free, hands-on cooking classes and grocery donations to low-income adults, families, and kids. Our free programs are Nourishing Pregnancy, Cooking Matters, Planned & Prepped, and Food as Medicine. Each program reaches new audiences, increases the impact of our work, and continues to build strong partnerships in the Bay Area and beyond.
With your donation, you'll help us to teach more people in the Bay Area to cook, feed their families, and alleviate food security through our free Community Programs.
- New parents learn to feed their families and themselves with nourishing food and doula support in Nourishing Pregnancy.
- Seniors, kids, and whole families learn new recipes, basic skills, and how to make everything delicious in Cooking Matters.
- Cooking Matters graduates continue learning about cooking techniques, planning, and budgeting in Planned & Prepped.
- Folks managing diabetes activity reduce their A1C and improve blood sugar by cooking at home in Food as Medicine.
